11 days...

It's crazy how much more busy you suddenly become with 3 kids! It's quite the adjustment. Two was easy...but three? It's tough. I'm crazy tired all of the time. Just listening to Macie and Noah fight is exhausting in itself. And then nursing every 2 hours for 25 minutes, that's another exhausting story. Luckily, he is a good eater, however. He didn't have any problems...me on the otherhand, well, Noah ruined me I've decided. This may be too much information, but when Noah was 10 months old, he bit me. He bit me hard. He was getting those dang molars in, and he just chomped down! The cut got infected, and opened up every time he nursed. The doctors told me the only way for me to heal from it, because it was so deep and so bad, was to stop nursing. So, after 10 months, he was done. When Macie was born, the cut opened up again, and was pretty painful for the first little bit. And this time around, it happened again. So, it's been interesting, but we are finally recovering from it. It is getting easier for me. Thank goodness!

I haven't posted anything for a long time. It's been crazy at the Christensen house these days. I'll have to back post a bunch of things. We have been using Adam's work camera, because it works better than ours, and we can't upload the pictures to our computer. So, once we get the pictures I'll do all of the posts for like Christmas and things! But, the real excitement in our house is Baby Jacob. He still is quite the novelty. It hasn't worn off yet. The kids still fight who gets to hold him first in the morning. The love this kid to pieces! A few days after he was home the hospital sent out a home care nurse to weigh him and check his vitals and things. He was good. He was a little yellow, but she just told us to put him in the sunlight for a little while and nurse him a lot. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce, so he lost a little after birth, but that's expected. This was a week ago. We took him in yesterday for his 2 week check up, eventhough he's not quite 2 weeks...and he weighs 9 pounds! So, he's a growin! His jaundice isn't a concern, and he's totally fine. He's a good little baby. We've had our bouts of crying and crying...but overall, he's a good baby. If I hold him at night he sleeps for like 3 hour increments. So we'll have to work on that part!

It's so fun to have him in our home, though. The kids love it, I love it, Adam loves it. It's good. We may not have the most clean house right now...or all the laundry done, but we're adjusting to life as a family of 5. It'll take some getting used to, I think. We can't do as many things. The kids and I usually go to Target to just get out of the house. We've tried it...it isn't so much fun. We probably won't be doing it again any time soon! But, think of the money I'll save! Maybe enough to get a bigger car eventually. Our Honda Accord is a little crammed.

And yet, another fight to intervene. This just gets better and better...

Nativity video

{We'll try this again...hopefully it'll work this time.}
If you are interested, you can watch the video. Adam read the Christmas story in Luke 2, and the kids "acted" it out. It was pretty funny to watch!

The Nativity

We officially have the perfect amount of children to do a nativity. Hopefully we can do this as a tradition in our family. It worked out perfect to have Jacob be Baby Jesus. Noah has been talking about being Jospeh for the longest time. I got them in their little outfits, and Noah insisted that Jospeh needed a beard. So, Joseph got a beard. Noah loved it. Macie was excited to be Mary, as well. Adam was supposed to be the donkey, but he backed out at the last minute. Stage fright, I guess. (Adam says: "I won't let my kids make an ass out of me.") It was hard for them to sit still throughout the Christmas story, but they did good. I think just the costumes made it well worth it. They make a good little holy family.

Christmas Sunday

My mom brought Noah and Macie their Sunday Christmas outfits. Last week Macie insisted that she wear her dress from last year. And through a huge fit when I wouldn't let her. It was pretty short, but she loves the dress. Her dress this year is very similar, and Macie was so excited to wear it. She kept asking me if she could wear her pretty dress yet. She looked pretty cute in it, but during the photo shoot, she decided she would much rather sing Popcorn Popping and look through the slip of the dress. We didn't get the best pictures. But, oh well. She loved the dress. Noah got a Christmas sweater. He thought he looked very handsome, and he did. I can't beleive how big they are these days.

Mother of 3

{I don't have pictures...sorry. I thought I'd warn you from the beginning. Pictures make the posts better, however, we have been using Adam's work camera, and it has decided to not let us upload the pictures to our computer. Don't worry, there will be some soon.}

Life with three children is...interesting, to say the least. We came home from the hospital on Saturday morning at around 11. It really surprised us that we were home so early. The paper said they start discharges at 11, and they really meant it. We were on the road home by then. I was ready to go home. I didn't think I could handle any more "La Buena." My roomate spoke Spanish, and apparently really liked the trashy music videos on this particular station. Hmm. Anyway, we went home without calling, we thought it would make for a better surprise. The kids loved it. Macie and Noah can not get enough of him. They fight over who gets to hold him...ALL OF THE TIME. Noah is pretty protective of his little brother. They both are pretty cute with him. Macie still is a little confused, I guess may be the right word. She really wants Mommy time, but only when I go to pick up the baby or when it's time to nurse. Her cries have gotten louder and she has now started SCREAMING. Noah has just started little tantrums, which I'm sure are baby related. We'll see how it all plays out.

My mom and brother left on Sunday morning. They weren't here for long, but it was a huge help to have the kids with them. Knowing that they were in good hands, and we didn't have to worry about taking them other places was a big helper. They were with their Momo, and they loved it. It was sad seeing them leave. My mom left me with three kids. I didn't think I could handle it. Sunday went well. Adam took the kids to church, and it was just me and Jacob. I got in a little nap, but he decided that he wanted to be wide awake for the most part. My milk hadn't come in yet, so he really wasn't into nursing much. I just fed him every like 4 hours. The night went well. He woke up twice, I think. But wasn't up long.

And then reality set in. Adam went to work yesterday morning. My mom was gone. It was me and three little kiddos. The fighting started early. Noah and Macie fought over who was going to hold him first. And then it was who got to hold his head, and who got to hold his feet. And then it was who got the blue sippy cup and who got the green sippy cup. And then it was who got to pick the movie. It just went on and on and on. I was exhausted, so I just watched them fight it out. It was quite comical. They eventually came to some sort of agreement, if you can call it that. But, after a screaming and flailing spell on Macie's part. But, we survived the morning. And I needed a shower.

I remember taking my first shower when it was just me and Noah. I didn't know what to do. Where was I going to put him? So, I usually lugged the swing into the doorway. And then Macie was born. It took more creativity with her. I'd have to get Noah engrossed in a movie, and then put Macie in the baby papasan chair. That worked pretty well. But with three? We have a separate bath. So before the baby, I would just shower while they bathed. It always worked out well. I knew where they were at. But, I still am being cautious about lifting. I overdid myself after Macie and didn't recover as quickly as I should have, so I'm trying to be really good this go around. But, I put Jacob in the papasan, and plopped the kids on the bed with a movie. But they wanted to look at the baby. It was okay. I was clean. Baby Jacob was safe. The kids were happy. It worked out. I felt pretty accomplished after the shower! But then Adam called and said I could come pick him up from work. That was a task. I got all three ready to go and in their carseats. I didn't realize how much work that would be. I even broke a sweat! I am not the kind of homebody person. I have to be going places all of the time. It drives me nuts to just sit at home. Even when I know I have so much to do at home, I just have to get out. But, I think this baby is going to totally cramp my style. I don't think I can handle three kids in a store. It was hard enough getting them into the car and into Adam's office. I think we'll be staying at home a lot more these days. Maybe I'll save lots and lots of money that way! But, we did it. We survived just the four of us. Adam came home early to save me, but for those few hours, we made it.

A home health nurse came to weigh Jacob and check his vitals and things. He weighs 8 pounds 1 ounce, the same and Noah and Macie did at birth. He's a little jaundice, but not terrible. He's a strong little booger, too. He's my big boy. He's a good little nurser, like Macie. As soon as my milk came in, he started eating every like hour and a half for a good 15 minutes. He loves it. Once again, I have quite the milk supply. I pumped a good 7 ounces last night in about 5 minutes. And, it's all cream. It's thick. I know I'll have a healthy boy! Maybe I'll get skinny again, too. I could be in my size 2 jeans again! Macie took every ounce of fat off me, and I was skinny. We'll see if Jacob is as nice! With his good nursing, however, comes the diapers. We had forgotten how many diapers newborns go through. Jeez.

Last night was a very sleepless night. I changed his diaper at about 10. I fed him, and laid him down. About 10:15, he needed his diaper changed again. And now was wide awake. 11, he went to sleep. 11:45, wanted to eat AGAIN. 12, needed his diaper changed. 12:10, another diaper change. 12:30, finally asleep. 1:30, another diaper change and wanted to eat. 3, wanted to eat again. 5, I made Adam take him downstairs while he got ready for work. 6, wanted to eat. 7:30, ate again, and needs a diaper change. It was quite the night, and starting as quite the morning. He just wants to eat and eat and eat. We'll see how Macie likes it later on. She won't be too happy that I'll be feeding him more.

But, I do love being a mother of three. I'm sure we'll work out the kinks and make it a good experience. I have good kids. They have their fair share of tantrums, but I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. Having a third baby makes us feel more complete. I know it's going to be pretty stressful, but I signed up for it! We can do it.

The long awaited…

He’s finally here! A little late, but that’s alright. Baby Jacob Maxwell was born at 3:40 AM, this morning the 19th.

I had a doctor’s appointment on Thursday in the morning. My mom and Cory came into town on Wednesday night, so they stayed home with the kids while Adam and I went to the doctor. It was supposed to be the day to schedule the induction. I was monitored, and nothing was happening. No contractions. No nothing. So, the doctor called the hospital to schedule a time. He thought it would be like Friday or Saturday before they got me in. But…I had hope. He got off the phone, and said we could go as soon as we were ready. Yay! We went home and got the kids ready with what they needed, got everything ready to go. And then made a quick stop to In N’ Out Burger. I figured it was going to be my last meal for a while…I wouldn’t be able to eat the entire time I was there…and a greasy hamburger sounded oh so good! And it was.

We got to the hospital around noon. I was only still about a 3. They gave me Cervidil, which softens the cervix to make it more workable. The only problem with it, you have to keep it in for 12 hours, lying down. Oh, it was fun. I haven’t just sat and watched TV in a long time. It was very boring. We watched a lot of Food Network and HGTV. Adam loved it. My contractions started getting closer and closer and stronger. By about 1 in the morning the Cervidil decided to fall out. Luckily I was already contracting on my own about 3-4 minutes apart. I couldn’t really feel them. I thought I was just lucky and wouldn’t feel the pain. Ha…that was a joke. They put me on the lowest Pitocin dose, and they got VERY intense. They hurt so freakin bad. I can’t believe that I forgot what it felt like and had another one! But I guess that’s why we have more…I had completely forgotten the pain.

Since it was my 3rd baby, they didn’t think the Epidural would be worth it. They thought it wouldn’t wear off fast enough, because they figured I would progress faster anyway. So, I opted for an ITN…I don’t remember what they stands for. But, it is just a shot, like an epidural, but you don’t have a tube and catheter. It was nice. Pretty instant relief. I was loving it. No pain. And then around 3 the nurse checked me again. I was like a 6. Ten minutes later I was an 8. A few minutes later I was a 10. It was finally time to push…BUT, the ITN was wearing off. I could feel everything. I haven’t ever screamed during labor before, until this morning. I could feel all of the pressure and the pain. And then the doctor wasn’t there yet. The nurse told me I couldn’t push. His head was out, and they told me not to push. Are you kidding me? I HAD to push. There was no way around it. So, I pushed. He came out before the doctor got there! His umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, and his heart rate was dropping, so really, I HAD to push him out.

He looked so little. I thought they would say he was like 7 pounds or something, He just seemed littler than Noah and Macie did. Oh no…he was 8 pounds 6 ounces! I felt so good after labor. Just itchy. But I didn’t have the wearing off effects of the epidural that I had had before. It was nice. I had waited all this time, and the baby was FINALLY out. I was exhausted, but so excited to see him.

Jacob is a healthy baby. He nursed right after birth, latched on and everything. He’s only cried a few times. I better enjoy it while that lasts! I do miss the Rexburg hospital, however. I have to share a room. We are a total minority here, and my roommate doesn’t speak English…it’s interesting. But, we get to go home tomorrow morning, so that’s good!

When the kids came this morning to see him, they were so excited. Macie liked him from a distance, but Noah ate him up! He LOVES him. He giggled and smiled the whole time. Macie finally warmed up to him…but not to me. She is going to be so sad when my Mom leaves. It’s sad. It was the longest I have been away from her, and then she didn’t even want to go to me or look at me. She’ll come around, I’m sure, but it’s so sad! Noah is just excited for Baby Jacob to come to his house.

So, we have a healthy baby boy, healthy Momma – it’s good. Now if we can get through the night. He’s been sleeping ALL day. I’m in for it tonight. And tomorrow we go home!

Sunday.

Noah is getting so big. He's growing out of everything he owns. But, the next size is just huge on him! He's in an awkward stage. We went to Mervyns for their mega going out of business sale, and found this outfit for him. I'm not a stickler on making him wear white shirts and ties to church. I figure he'll be wearing them his entire life after 12, so let him live a little! Maybe that's not the best way to look at it, but he usually just wears a polo and khakis or something...nothing fancy. But, when I saw this outfit for such a good deal, we had to buy it. When he tried it on, I, of course, got all teary. He's such a big boy. Not a baby. Not a toddler. Just a big boy! He loves it. He loves that he wears a tie and has the vest. He looked pretty sharp. Macie is sporting a skirt that I made her. I kind of made it a little too long, but she'll grow into eventually...maybe when she's 5 or so! It's cute though. She looked all fancy. Her poor little hand, however. This was 2 Sundays ago...it is getting better and we only cover it up when we go places that it could get irritated. But, aren't my kids two of the best looking kids??

I've been a good boy.

I have been such a slacker in the picture business. I really haven't taken that many, and that is so not like me! BUT...we did have our Ward Christmas party on the 6th...yeah, I've been bad. Noah got to sing with Primary and loved it. He didn't sing, but just liked the attention. And then we waited in a forever long line to see Santa. Macie was all for it at first, but then didn't want to have anything to do with him once we got there. She was the only screamer of the night! Noah loved it, however. He rattled off his long list of Transformers that he wanted, and he didn't forget the Star Wars scooter. He is really into the whole Santa thing this year, it's fun. He's getting old. My baby is no longer a baby.

Goodness sakes!

Another doctor's visit down...still no baby. I'm a little confused about my appointment today. Remember like a month or so ago I blogged about being dilated to a 3? And the doctor told me he was low and probably would be here any day. Yeah, apparently he lied. Today he told me I'm just dilated to a 1. Even at the hospital the day after Thanksgiving, they told me I was a 3...and now I'm only a 1? Can you shrink? I didn't know if that was possible. Where did I find these doctors? And I guess the baby is no longer down. He REALLY just does not want to come out. He's afraid of us...I probably would be, too! I have yet ANOTHER appointment on Thursday and he'll set the inducement time for Friday. But he seemed to think I'd go in to labor before then. He kept repeating that I'll most likely go into labor before the appointment. I don't know if I can trust him though. He hasn't been too right so far! My membranes were stripped for another time as well. It hurt this time, so we'll see if that means labor!

Rent.

I am officially brain dead, I think. This pregnancy has really made me, well...for lack of a nicer way to put it, dumb! I don't think it was as bad as with the others. But, you have all heard of the pregnant mind...and how some women have very boggled minds. Well, my mind is just gone. I blame it on being overdue. My theory: The longer you're pregnant, the less brain power you have. The baby takes it all, I guess!

Our rent is due no later than the 5th of every month. Like most rent. I made sure to put it in the mail on the 4th, it would be postmarked the 4th, and our landlord would most likely get it on the 5th, as she lives in the next city north. The 8th came along. She e-mailed Adam, our rent was late. She hadn't gotten it. I was really confused. I mailed it...why hadn't she gotten it? I checked the mail the next day, and sure enough in the mailbox was my rent envelope with a big red stamp on it saying MISSING POSTAGE. How embarrassing! How in the world had I forgotten the stamp? So, I sent it again, now like a week late. We get another e-mail from our landlord. When I wrote out the check, I wrote the right amount in the little box, but when I wrote it out I wrote it for 90 bucks less. Goodness, wasn't it bad enough I forgot the stamp, and then I had to write it for the wrong amount. I'll be very grateful for my mind back.

Baby wishlist

It's 5 AM. I've been awake for a good two hours now. I guess I got my 4 hours in, I'm good to go. It's Saturday, however...aren't you supposed to sleep in on Saturday? Anyway. I've gotten several e-mails throughout my pregnancy asking me if I needed/wanted anything for the baby. I'm not one to tell people what I want. I hate making lists. I hate when people ask me what I want for birthdays or Christmas...I don't want to tell you. Just get whatever you want. I guess I don't hate it...I do it too...I just feel bad that someone is giving me something. I guess I just feel bad having someone buy me something, I don't know...I should just be glad that I can save my money, and save sleep thinking about the things that I wish I could get! So, I decided to make a baby wishlist. This is what I lose sleep over at night. Thinking of stupid things like what I want to buy when the next paycheck comes. Dumb, I know. But I really do lose sleep over things like this. I'll sit there and think of what I want and figure out in my mind how I can get it. It's a bad thing.

With the third baby, however, pretty much everything that you NEED, you already have. So, I my wishlist is just that...a WISH list. Full of things I want! Things that I think would make life easier, but I could probably get by without...but that's no fun. The first on the list, Baby Legs. Or baby leg warmers. I think they are cute.
And I think they are a good idea. I hate having to take the pants off and then undo the onesie. Maybe I'm just lazy. But usually the pants don't make it back on, so I just have a baby in a onesie. But with Baby Legs, and the like, they stay in place, and the little legs won't get cold. And they are perfect for crawling. Poor Macie would get sores on her knees from crawling on the carpet. True, we did have the crappiest carpet at the time. But it's the thought of it. They can be found at many places online.

The second thing on the list, a Slurp N' Burp. Yes, that's what it's called. I think it's cool. I saw one in a maternity boutique here in town, but they were selling them for 40 bucks! Online at the slurp n' burp website, they are only $24.99. Weird. It's just a good idea. That what you don't HAVE to be covered by a blanket it public. Or if you are, and the blanket slips, it's okay. I know a lot of people nurse with their baby in a sling...this is kind of the same idea, but, if this baby is big like Macie he won't be able to nurse in a sling for very long!

Which brings me to the third thing. A sling. I have one, but it's girlie. I could make one, but I have to motivation. I've made a few for friends. I can do it, but I just don't want to. I just want to pay someone to do it for me so I don't have to worry about it! I really liked the sling with Macie. It was easier than the front pack thing. We had a fake Bjorn imitation, however. And while in the airport in Boise...just me and the kids, when Macie was like 3 months old, it broke. She had exceeded the limit, and the buckle just gave out. She was a big girl. We went with the sling next, and it was good...and cheaper than the Bjorn.

And finally, the diaper bag. I like a lot of diaper bags. But, diaper bags are expensive. I was looking online, and there are diaper bags for like 300 bucks! Most of the ones I liked were 100ish. But still, for a diaper bag? I guess you do use it everyday. But, I haven't ever spent more than like 25 bucks on a purse before. I'm a cheapskate. In high school I used to buy Doc Marten's. Why? I don't know. I look back now on the money I wasted on shoes! Now if the shoes aren't 20 bucks or less, I'll just do with the flip flop. Adam loves it. I just spend my money on the kids now, I guess. But I don't know what it is that I like about this diaper bag. I just keep getting drawn to it over and over. And, overtock.com has this one in black for onle $54. That's still a lot...but it beats te $100 retail price, right?
And for the TOP of my wishlist. Above ALL other things, BABY JACOB. I just want the baby. I'll take him over anything else. I just want him. And I NEED him, too!

And that concludes my wishlist, folks. I have everything else I need. Except nursing pads. I thought about that in the middle of the night. I have to get those. I have a freakishly large amount of milk, and I'll need those nursing pads! But I think this babe will be very well dressed for a while. He's got a carseat, a swing, a crib, a pack n' play, a stroller (or two or three or four!), a high chair...everything you really NEED, he has.

Today is another day. Will today be the day?? It's all I blog about. When I post, people probably are like, "Oh, great...another Lindsay post complaining about not having a baby." I know...but it's all I can think about these days. The sooner he comes, the sooner I can not bore you about it!!

Day 3 overdue.

Three days. ThREE DAYS! And I don't think anything is happening. I just want to see this baby. Macie told us this morning that the baby isn't coming. We ask her everyday if the baby is coming today, and today she said no. We asked if he'd ever come, and she said no. See...he's never coming out. It's driving me nuts. Will this baby be a blondie like his brother and sister? Will he be totally huge? Will he have blue or brown eyes {I know I'll have to wait for that one...but the more I wait for him to come out, the more I'll have to wait for that, too!}? People do double takes at stores. And ask when I'm due. When I say according to my original due date, I'm like 11 days overdue, they tell me, well you look it. Well...thanks for that. That's just what I want to hear! I guess my belly is low, and I look ready, but maybe you should just keep that to yourself!Ü Anyway, maybe today is the day? I'll keep my fingers crossed, and you better, too!

Baby ticker

If you notice my little baby thing on the side of our blog, the days are going back up. Yesterday I was at 0 days left. Today there is 1. I guess it starts adding once you are past due. Kinda funny. Yes. I am officially one day over due according to the doctor's due date. 11 days past due according to MY original due date! And I haven't progressed at all. Originally when I went in on Monday the doctor told me that he would pull my cervix down today when I went in, because it wasn't doing anything on its own. So I went in today, still nothing. And because of the still nothing, the doctor decided he wasn't going to pull the cervix down. He was hoping that by stripping my membranes it would help get things started. No such luck. And to avoid the excruciating of having your cervix pulled down, he opted to wait. Oh, I tried to protest. I told him I didn't care that it hurt. I was willing to do anything. But, to prevent any further damage, we're going to wait. These last few weeks have been killer. And all because the doctor told me that I wouldn't go to my due date...I'd go much before because I was already dilated and the baby was in position, and I was measuring 3 weeks early...that was like a whole month ago!! I don't think doctors should tell you things like that. Especially when you're pregnant. It's not fair. They don't really know when it will actually happen. They should just keep their mouths shut until something major happens. I even bought a Thanksgiving outfit for him. That was my jinx, I guess. The extra time, however, just gives us more time to find a middle name for the little guy. Hopefully he comes soon. I don't go back to the doctor until Monday. Which means another week of church. I love church, don't get me wrong...I just don't want people to come up to me and say, "You haven't had that baby, yet?" Okay...no. Obviously. 22 people asked me about it on Sunday. 22. I hope I don't have to go through that again!!

Everything is fine with the baby. His heartrate it great. He's moving around...nonstop moving, so that's a good sign. He's just enjoying life in the womb. Maybe he's a little nervous about having two older siblings, like your mother is. But everything will be okay, Baby Jacob. You can come out now. Today.

{this is what kind of pictures you get when Noah takes control of the camera. I usually don't have a head. Oh well...maybe it's better that way!}

Twilight

I finally saw it. I didn't join the millions of other who saw it on opening night. I didn't even see it opening weekend. But, I saw it. And I was the only one in the theater. I don't like going places alone. I really don't even like to go to the store by myself. It's nice to have someone else there with you. But, Adam suggested that I go to the movie because it could be my last chance I have to do something by myself for a while! The kids were asleep, and since I've become an insomniac these days, I went to the 9:35 showing of Twilight. I kept waiting for at least one other person to come into the theater. Nope. No one. Just me. They were probably mad that they had to actually play the movie for one person. But, oh well!

Did I like the movie? Well...it did follow the book very well. It was good. There were some cheesy parts, like many others have said. There were a lot of close ups of Bella...and I didn't think she was the most attractive. Jacob wasn't a good actor. But, it was good. I'm glad I went to it. There is something about watching a movie of a book that you read. You just have to go. Maybe it's just me, because I never read books, so for me to read a book if a pretty big deal! There obviously has to be another movie for the next book, right? Maybe since this one did so well they will have more money to make the next one even better.

It was weird to go by myself, and only get one ticket. Honestly, I haven't ever gone to a movie alone before. I kind of felt like a loser. But, it was nice to have some quiet time that I could just sit there and watch a movie and not have to be constantly getting up to get something, or be a referee, or having to clean my house. I love being a mother, and I love my kids...but even a few hours alone is nice. So, thanks, Adam, for making me go to the movie!

Doctor day.

Another doctors appointment come and gone. Still nothing. I am 85% effaced, but still only dilated to a 3. The problem is, I have a high cervix. That was the thing with Noah and Macie as well. It's pretty painful to have that thing pulled down, (sorry for the information...but it is painful!)so if it hasn't dropped any by Wednesday they will do it for me. My membranes were stripped this morning, we'll see if that gets me anywhere. I was so excited yesterday, thinking I was having the baby. I started having contractions during Relief Society. Actual contractions...I thought. But, they were like 10 minutes apart. They continued for a while, but then just went away. I just get my hopes up too high, I guess! I don't think he's ever coming out. He must really like it in there. So...Wednesday. If I haven't gone by then, they'll pull my cervix down, and if history repeats itself, I'll be having the baby pretty soon after that! Dang cervix.

On a happier note, Macie went to the doctor as well to get her little hand checked. It's healing very well. She has to go back in on Friday to have it looked at one more time. You'd think we wouldn't have to pay a copay every visit right? Yeah, no. It's been an expensive little burn. But it is nice to have the peace of mind that it is healing and getting better, even though it looks totally gross! I was almost positive that it was more infected when I looked at it last night. But it's just healing.

Two doctor visits down, a Target trip, the kids and I dressed and ready, and the dishes unloaded and loaded and it's only 11:14. Pretty impressive for us these days!

Babyless.

Am I mad? No. Am I disappointed? A little. Am I uncomfortable? YES! When will this baby come out? I've passed the "original" due date, and on to the second one. I don't think he's ever coming out. According to all of the appropriate dates, that are used to determine your baby's due date, I should have been due on November 26th. That was 10 whole days ago. But, when I first found out I was pregnant, and had my first ultrasound, they originally suspected twins. They heard two heartbeats and everything. And then the ultrasound wasn't clear, they thought they saw two...but it was still too early. The next month, they found only one baby and one heartbeat, but there was scar tissue {I think that's what they referred to it as.} which was probably from another baby that was there. Hence, why my baby was probably smaller than your average fetus...there could have been two of them fighting in there. So when the doctor told me that my baby was only 5 weeks along, I just laughed at him. I had been sick so about 4 weeks longer than that. I couldn't only be 5 weeks. I had a belly already. You could tell I was pregnant. But, the new doctors I've been going to since August, don't listen, either. They still go by the December 9 due date, and may possibly go by the December 16 due date that the doctors in Palmdale recorded. The Palmdale doctors just BARELY faxed over my records last Friday. They are really on the ball, aren't they? Sorry...I'm really just ranting, but I'm ready to have this baby. If my due date were the 26th of November, couldn't there be harm to my baby letting him stay in there longer than 10 days? I don't think I can go into labor on my own. I didn't with Noah, and when I went in to be induced with Macie two weeks early, I was dilated to a 4, but not contracting at all. I don't think my body will go into labor itself. Is that possible? That waiting game just isn't fun anymore. Every night before I go to bed I get everything ready, just in case. I lay out the kids clothes, make sure there are enough diapers in the bag for Macie, double check my bag...but to no avail. I'm still at home, with no baby. I have, however, been able to do a lot of things I probably wouldn't have been able to do with a baby, so that's been good. But ya know what? I'm done. Get him out. I think I'll go on a few 5 mile walks today! Maybe that'll get things going! I'm going to go on a blog strike until the baby is born...no more posts until I can post a baby picture! Maybe that will work! Now, to buy the castor oil...

Burn patient.

I did it. I took Macie into the doctor. If it hadn't have been for Natalie and her nurse expertise...it probably could have been a lot worse than it was. It wasn't totally infected. But, the doctor thought that an infection could be starting. So, with the antibiotic cream that he prescribed, she should be fine. The doctor didn't scrape the skin off, however. He just put dry gauze on it, and then every morning after a bath, I'll peel the wet gauze off and the skin should come with it. Gross, eh? She was the best patient, though. She didn't cry when they started scrubbing it clean. She just gave the nurse her hand and told her all about how it happened. She told her about the hot water in Daddy's office, and that she screamed and cried. She just talked and talked. And then when the doctor came back in to check up on her, she said thank you to the doctor. Yes, my daughter is perfect. They were all talking about her in the hall. I have the best daughter ever. I have the best kids ever, really. But, you can all rest assured tonight knowing that Macie has been seen by a medical professional. She will be okay. It may, however, take three weeks to fully heal. We go back in on Monday for a follow up appointment. She's a trooper she is.

My friend, the Grinch.

I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. Noah has an imaginary friend. Not just any imaginary friend, however. His is the Grinch. We recorded the Jum Carrey version on our DVR, and he been watching it the past few days. When we went to the store today, he was talking to someone. And then as I was getting him out of the car, and stepped back, Noah freaked out, "Don't push him, Mom!" It took me by surprise. Was there someone behind me? I looked back, and I'm like, "Don't push who?" "The Grinch, Mom." Like I should have known! He held the "Grinch's" hand throughout Target. He had me buckle his seatbelt when we got in the car. He's been talking to him all day long. He shows him his toys and just laughs randomly. He even "shared" his sandwich. We'll see how long this phase lasts. I kind of feel bad, though. Should I be going to play groups and setting up playdates? Is he lacking in the friend department? Or does every child have an imaginary friend? He wanted me to take a picture of him and Mr. Grinch. {he has his arm around him, if you didn't know.}

Noah has quite the imagination. I don't think I'm so much worried about that aspect of an imaginary friend. I just worry he doesn't have much interaction with other kids. He's a funny kid, that Noah.

Dang hot water.

So, update on Macie's hand. Poor girl. I know that it probably hurts! I have been putting cream on it, and covering it with a light layer of gauze just to keep it protected. The blisters have like merged together, forming a huge blister. Kind of gross, really.

She had another on her other finger than was pretty big, but it popped last night. It's gross, because the blisters jiggle. There is so much crap in there. Yuck. She is really good about it though. She doesn't play with it or anything, and holds up that hand when she is playing and eating. And it's her right hand. She very ambidextrous, that girl...or amphibious as Shawn Kemp would have said {it was Shawn Kemp, wasn't it??} Anyway. We ran out of the gauze this morning. We went to Target to get more, and what do ya know? As my luck would have it, the blister popped. Just to tell you how gross it was, there was a puddle on the ground. Yes, she was crouched on the ground looking at something, so she was close to the ground. It was gross. A puddle. And then her long sleeved shirt was soaked up to the elbow...yellow puss. Sorry for the detail...it just adds to the value of the story! I rushed home to get her changed so we could make it for story time at the library for Noah. She didn't seem too concerned about her hand dripping with crap. I found these blister bandaids and covered it up while we were out, I don't want the open wound to get infected. But then, do I let it air out, or what? I want it to heal. I don't know...I'm no nurse. Where is my grandma, Myrt, when I need her? I need her to look at the burn and then just tell me what to do! I'll see how keen my motherly instincts are!

So that's the burn update. All the blisters popped...hopefully it will heal, poor girl.

The water cooler.

Every office has one. But, since we aren't coffee drinkers, we don't realize how hot the hot side actually gets. Macie is a very defiant girl. If she wants something, she's determined to find a way to get it.

Yesterday was quite a day. I'm trying to get all my Christmas shopping done, which is hard when the people I'm shopping for are with me all day everyday. So, their cousin Rylee is getting a lot of presents again this year! That's what they think anyway, and they seem fine with it. Hopefully it'll work again this year! That's what we did all morning. Shopped. We went to Kohls. We went to Michaels. We went to Target. All with screams and unwillingness to shop. A little stop at Target for popcorn and pop, er soda as it's called here, and we were good! And then we got home.

Noah has been a little sick the past few days. He's been complaining about a sore throat. We didn't go to church on Sunday, and he did start coughing a little bit. But I had to get things done, so I had to take him along with me. When we got home, I was upstairs folding my endless mounds of laundry. We are trying to get Noah to just wear underwear all of the time, and not diapers at night. With that, however, lots of laundry is added to the already heaping pile. I don't know what it is, but I think our family should win an award for the most laundry in a week. I swear. So, I was sorting and folding laundry. And I hear Noah coming upstairs telling me that he's thrown up. I thought that maybe he was sicker than I had originally thought. I went down, and sure enough, he had thrown up all of the couch, all over him, the floor, and even Macie. It wasn't a pretty sight. Then Noah told me that he swallowed a coin. A coin?!?! What kind of coin? At first he said it was quarter, but then it changed to a penny. There wasn't any coins in his puke, which made me worried. Was it lodged in his throat or something? He sounded fine when he breathed, a little wheezy, but he had been already. He was eating something, so he didn't have any problems there. So I called my mom. She thought I should call the doctor. I called the doctor, they told me that sometimes when you swallow coins it could be like drinking car battery fluid, and could really mess up your insides. Okay, that's not what I needed to hear. He has swallowed pennies before. I didn't know at the time, just later on when I found them in his diaper. So I know he's passed them, but to hear this and be 9 months pregnant, I freaked out. I made the appointment to see the doctor at 3. My appointment was at 3:45, just across the street. We got to Adam's office around 2:30, and we decided that he probably didn't need to see the doctor. He'd probably pass the coin soon enough. He wasn't having any problems with it. And we have new insurance so x-rays aren't covered yet, not until we reach the deductible for him, so we opted out of the doctor. It's now about 2:45, Adam is on the phone cancelling the appointment. Noah is crying because he wants to see his doctor {he's a strange one, he is}, and Macie is missing. And then I hear the scream.

Not the regular Macie scream. The scream that means pain. Usually I hear this when Noah is tormenting her. So I knew something was wrong. She ran out of the break room in Adam's office, and kept saying, "Hot, Hot!" Her hand was a little red. I knew she had played with the water cooler, and done opposite of what we always tell her, and pulled on the red handle. We have told her time and time again not to touch that, it could cause owies. But, she had to learn that the hard way, that girl. We hurried and put water on it, and then a frozen burrito. {You make do with what you have!} I went to the drugstore to get an ice pack so Macie could stay with Adam while I took Noah with me to my doctor appointment. She is still crying. But, she held that burrito on it pretty well. Finally, she stops crying, and we got to the office. One of Adam's bosses, says we should just run it under cold water. So, after 15 minutes of that, it just keeps getting redder and redder. I decided to take her to my appointment. Both kids. What was I thinking anyway? Macie screamed and cried the whole time. Obviously in pain. I looked at her hand again, and blisters were forming. Great. That water is pretty dang hot! The nurse was very nice at the OB GYN. She called a pediatrician for me just to get advice. They said she probably would need a prescription for burn cream, but there really wasn't much to do, just don't pop the blisters. Macie still screamed, and the blisters got bigger.

We waited in the office for a while, only to find out both doctors in the office were at the hospital with emergency c-sections. I wouldn't get checked today. And that isn't what I wanted to hear, dangit. But, I took the news and left with my screaming children. By now Macie's blisters were huge. The doctor was booked and not taking any more patients. Our co-pay for the doc is 20 bucks...urgent care is 50. What would they have done. We know what it needs. Burn cream and a little gauze. I took the kids home, and Macie fell asleep, probably just in so much pain, but she's a trooper, she is. She slept through me getting her in the car as we went to get Adam from work. We stopped at Wal-Mart, got some burn cream over-the-counter, and headed home. Her blisters had gotten even bigger. She has two huge ones, full of crap, about the size of two dimes. And then littler ones along her fingers. Poor girl. We wrapped it up, and she seemed to be okay with it.

The moral of the story is, those water things are VERY hot. When they say "CAUTION: HOT!", believe them. It's not a trick. They are hot. We had quite the day. Hopefully today will be a little better, but I am hoping for a baby, however, that may make yesterday seem like a cake walk! We'll see how it goes. As for my defiant children...they have to learn somehow, hopefully Macie has learned to listen to us first, though. It's hard, though, when they want to learn everything for themselves. Oh, the joys of motherhood. It isn't easy, but someone has to do it!

The tree.

Last year I did a lot of after Christmas shopping. But, I didn't spend a whole lot of money. I hit up a lot of the 75% or more off sales. We were in Idaho until New Year's, and I really didn't shop until we got home. We ended up with two fake trees, lots of glass balls, and lots of wrapping paper. One of the trees was 6 feet, and only 4 bucks. The other was 7 feet and 7 bucks, at 90% off. I thought it was a good deal, and was so excited about it all year long. I couldn't wait to put up my seven dollar tree. And then I took it out of the box. All of this time I hadn't ever realized that it was a slim tree. I probably saw it, but didn't think much about it. I mean it was 7 bucks! But, like the description says, it's a slim tree. Very slim. We have huge ceilings in our front room. Like massive ceilings, and this little skinny tree looks kind of silly. Adam just laughed when he saw it. It isn't a bad looking tree if you get past it's skinniness! I thought that maybe it would be better after the lights and the decorations, but no. Still slim. I guess it'll be the last year of the 7 dollar tree, and we'll be shopping for another one soon. You win some, you lose some. That's how the deal goes. Oh well. It's a tree...it's up. It's decorated. I'm done.

Macie Alida

Macie is just so cute. Noah is sick and Adam has a lesson to teach, so I decided to stay home with him. Which gave me lots of time to get Macie ready for church. She loves to wear dresses and get her hair done pretty for church. She loves to go to nursery. She talks about it all week long, and then Sacrament meeting seems to take forever for her. She just can not wait to walk into the nursery room. Last week she fell asleep during Sacrament Meeting, so instead of waking her up, I let her sleep, and she ended up sleeping throughout the rest of church. So, she missed it. And she talked about it all week long. She kept telling me, "I sleep, no go nursery?" As she told me this she had her little look that she does, if you've ever spent time with her, you know what I'm talking about. She kind of makes and expression and talks out the corner of her mouth...hard to explain, but so Macie and so cute! But, today, she was exceptionally excited for nursery. Not only was it that, but she got to go to church just with Daddy. She loves her daddy. Last night I asked her if she was Daddy's girl or Mommy's girl, and as quick as I asked, she told me she was a Daddy's girl. And she definately is.

The other day she took a blue Sharpie marker to her arms. She does this quite often, actually. So, she needed a long sleeved dress for church. Her sweaters were dirty, she needs new tights, and only has red or black church shoes, so her options were slim. I bought her a skirt at Target that is kind of like a tutu. She loves it, but I never wanted it to really be a church skirt. But she insisted on wearing it. She looks like a little ballerina in it. Oh well...I'm not with her at church today, it'll be okay! She's a funny little girl. Already very opinionated in her clothes and hair. I wanted to take her picture before they left for church. She had her purse all packed up with snacks and books...she was ready to go. But she didn't want just a picture, she wanted to go outside for a whole photo shoot! We went outside, she showed me where she wanted the pictures taken, she sat on her stool and posed. She's quite the model. She is just so dang cute! How can you resist that face? Oh, she's just too cute!! I love her personality. She is so funny. She is the sweetest girl ever. I can't believe she's so big and won't be my baby anymore. But, she's going to be the best big sister ever! I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to brag about my daughter. She's great.

My first Thanksgiving dinner.

I haven't ever made Thanksgiving dinner before. I have always been so blessed to be able to just go somewhere and not have to worry about the cooking and the cleaning up the cooking. But, there is always a first for everything, right? When the pre-Thanksgiving ads came out for the grocery stores, I priced everything. Thanksgiving dinner isn't cheap. For just the four of us, and Macie and Noah don't usually eat a whole lot, it would have cost 40 bucks. It was hard to be like okay, forty bucks and I have to actually make the food. It was very tempting to just say we're going out for the big feast! But, our friends, the Barkers, came up from Costa Mesa. For four adults, it made me feel a little bit better! In hopes that I would have the baby, I got all of the shopping done on Monday, and printed our recipes...just in case I wouldn't be able to make the dinner, Adam could. I got a 22 pound turkey. Yeah, it was quite large. But as the deal went, I could have gotten a 12 pound turkey for $7.88, or a 22 pounder for 2 bucks more. 10 more pounds of turkey goodness for 2 bucks? Of course I went with that one! I mean, would I pass up a good deal?

Obviously, the baby didn't come. I jinxed it by buying a cute little Thanksgiving outfit. So, I was the cook of the dinner. I took the easy way out, and bought the rolls and the pumpkin pie...I'm 9 months pregnant, I can do that! But everything else was handmade. Our menu consisted of Butterball turkey, which Anniece did most of. She brought the Oven bag...which from what I can tell is the way to go. You just put the turkey in, tie it up, and let it cook. The clean up was easy, and we didn't have to baste anything. Next time I make a turkey, it'll be that way. And then we had Sweet potato puff {thanks Kimberlee, it's my FAVORITE thing to eat!}, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry cherry jello salad, dixie salad, rolls, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. And of course we had Cranberry Sierra Mist. I'm a big fan of the cranberries. Our stuffing even had cranberries in it. It's a seasonal thing, you can't not have them...they are so good.

I'm not a very good hostess when it comes to making big dinners. I usually stress out and think everything is a disaster and end up apologizing for stupid things all throughout dinner, but this dinner was good. Everything went well. The sweet potato puff was puffy {it isn't usually...I usually mess it up}. The turkey was delicious. And everything was good. I think I'll even make another Thanksgiving dinner again sometime! It wasn't as bad as I thought. Thanks, Anniece for your help in the making and the cleaning up! I couldn't have done it without you! And, thank you to Adam for carving the turkey. I'm pretty accident prone and don't have a very good history with knives...I would have ended up in the ER with all my fingers cut off! But it was a very successful dinner! Not my grandma, Myrt's but it sufficed!

Even though Thanksgiving has come and gone, I am still thankful today for what I was grateful for on Thursday! I'm so thankful for my family...my entire family. I wouldn't be the person I am without them. They are truly my joy. I am very thankful for the gospel and the blessings we see from it every day. I am thankful for everything that we have...our house, our car, Adam's job, our income...everything. I'm thankful for trials, they make us stronger. I'm thankful for this new baby that doesn't want to come out...having babies in your home make it so fun and enjoyable! I'm thankful for lots of things...too many to just sit and list, the list would go on and on. But I am thankful for this holiday that we have to reflect on what we are thankful for. It's a good reminder...something that we should just remember each and every day. I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving...now bring on the Christmas season!

Happy Anniversary, Adam!

Five years ago today, instead of waking up at the crack of dawn to beat the crowds to the best deal, Adam and I woke up to get ready for our wedding. I woke up pretty early to do my hair and get all spiffed up, and Adam drove down from Rexburg to make it to the temple by 7:30 AM. I was late. Just a little bit. Like 5 minutes, maybe, but Adam was a little freaked out. He thought I had changed my mind. Of course I hadn't. But, we were married shortly after, and it was a great sealing session. It was such a good thing to know that I was being sealed the man I loved for time and all eternity. To be honest, I have no idea what the sealer said...I wish that I had listened a little better. But, it was a good day.

Five years later, we have two beautiful children with one on the way. We have lived in three different states, and in 8 different houses...but it's been fun. And there will be many many more years to come, and it will just only get better. Thanks for the great 5 years, babe. I love you!

{on a side note...I went to the hospital today, thinking that I had a lot of pressure, and thought I could have the baby today. Nope. I thought wrong. Still nothing. So, we won't have an anniversary baby, but that's okay.}

No baby.

He' still cookin! I went to the doctor yesterday. He's kind of a strange doctor. He doesn't like epidurals, inducing, or sleeping pills. I should have looked into this before I went to him, dangit. I thought they were going to strip my membranes, but my Strep B test came back, and it wasn't positive or negative. They had to redo it. And so the doctor wouldn't even check me until that came back again. I was mad. So, another week goes by. And still no baby. The carseat has been in the car for weeks...and that didn't encourage him to come. My house was clean a while ago...that didn't work. And it didn't last long, either! Did it too soon that I have to do it again! I have the diapers. I have the bed set up, the bags packed. What else do I need to do?? I guess I'll continue with my long walks, and jumping jacks. So far it hasn't helped...maybe this time I'll get lucky.

The happiest place on earth, huh?

As previously posted, we went to Disneyland. Yes, we go to Disneyland a lot. We live in California, and got our annual passes for a killer deal. And when I say killer, I really mean killer...three for under 100 bucks. That's another story for another time however. But, honestly, who would have passed up that offer? Anyway. On Friday it was the first day of the Christmas themed decor and festivities. You'd think the Christmas spirit would be in full force, especially at Disneyland, it is considered "The Happiest Place on Earth". That did not hold true this trip.

I was with the kids while Adam went on the roller coaster at California Adventure. We were in line for the new Toy Story ride. It was popular one since it's new and all. So the line is pretty long. Noah is quite the doddler. He kind of is in his own world sometimes. He gets easily distracted, a lot like his parents, actually. So, he plays with the chains and ropes while in lines, and doesn't really pay attention. I'm always calling him to join us in the line. And since I'm pretty pregnant, and was holding Macie, I wasn't caring about it too much. I mean, we're in a line, it wasn't moving very fast, and we weren't going anywhere. So I let him be slow. A lady behind me was in line alone. I guess she had just had it. Noah caused us to fall about 4 feet behind the next in line, and she let me know. She said, "We're in a line, you need to move." Of course I apologized. I have a problem with saying sorry to anything and everything. Most of the time I probably shouldn't be sorry for it, but I feel like I have to say sorry anyway. So the next time I made sure there was no space between us and the people in front of us. But it was just too much, having to say, "Noah, come on" every minute got old. And again, I found ourselves with a few feet distance. I mean, it's a few feet. Who cares? Well, the lady behind us did. "Excuse me...you have to move," she said. We're in a line, right?? Along with being pregnant, I get really annoyed. And, Cory and my Mom can attest to this, I get kind of mean to people that make me mad. I don't hold it in. I don't know if it's a pregnancy thing, or just a Disneyland thing, but if people do something to make me mad, I let them know it. So I turned to the lady and said, "We're in a line...you aren't going anywhere, deal with it." She looked at me like I was this evil person. It was funny. People around me were cheering me on and telling me good job...oh good times. But the story gets better. Remember, this lady was in line alone. We waited in line for a good 40 minutes. And she stood there by herself. We were very close to the front of the line, probably had to wait another 5 minutes, and who shows up? Ten of her family members. Yes...10 of them. She let 10 people cut with her in line. And she was so upset about us leaving a small little gap in a line that wasn't going anywhere anyway? Oh, people make me so mad sometimes! So, that was the first encounter. Don't worry, it doesn't stop there.

Toy Story is a 3D ride. You wear glasses and "play" carnival games in 3D. It's fun. And the glasses are cool. What little kid doesn't like to wear 3D glasses? When we approached the glasses bin, Macie insisted we get come for Daddy, eventhough he wasn't riding with us. We had four pairs of glasses. Macie loves to wear sunglasses. In fact, she wears Adam cool safety sunglasses to church. She just loves to wear glasses. After the ride, you are supposed to deposit your glasses into a bin so they can clean them and whatnot. Macie refused to give up hers. And she had to give Daddy his. And instead of fighting with a kicking 2 year old kicking my very pregnant belly, I let her take them. No one stopped me. Disneyland has many many cameras all around, places that you wouldn't expect. If they had a problem with her taking the glasses, I'm sure they could have stopped us. They probably cost them, what? 10 cents maybe? Not much. I'm sure they get taken everyday, and Disney doesn't even blink an eye at it. It's inevitable. So we took 2 pairs of glasses. I know, I know...I'm encouraging a thief. So, Adam took Macie to ride on a ride and I took Noah to the potty. As we were leaving the bathroom, a boy walks up to the stroller, and looks at the stolen 3D glasses and asks me, "Weren't you supposed to return those?" He was maybe 13 or so. I don't know why he even asked me about it, really. And I explained to him that if he was pregnant, and had a screaming 2 year old and a 4 year old running away, he would take them too to avoid any further disaster. This boys mother, however, piped up and had the nerve to say, very loudly mind you...to make sure I heard her, "That is the reason Disneyland prices keep going up, they have to replenish things like that when mother's don't watch their kids." The nerve! And then she grabbed the glasses out of the stroller. Out of our personal space. What in the heck was she going to do with them? So, I grabbed them out of her hands, and was like excuse me, what are you doing? And then walked off. Who does that? First, her son comments about what is in my stroller...none of his business anyway, and then the mom takes my things? I know they aren't rightfully mine, but still. Disneyland prices keep going up, because they can. People will still go anyway, why not get the most money they can. Those glasses are not a concern to them! Anyway...interesting.

And then the end. This is becoming a longer post than I intended, sorry. I just thought the stories were funny. But at the end of the night, we really didn't feel like fighting through the seas of people with our double jogger, so we opted to ride the train around the park that would drop us off at the front of the park, thus avoiding all of the people. We had the double stroller, and I have a big belly. We asked a ride train guy if we could just wait in the exit for the next train so we wouldn't have to carry the fricken huge stroller up the stairs to the train station. He said that it would be totally fine, since people probably wouldn't be getting off since the park would be closing soon. So, we waited the 7 minutes for the next train. The train lady on this train wasn't so nice. She told us that the Exit was for handicapped people only. Not for strollers. She was pretty rude about it. And wouldn't let us on. She told us we'd have to go wait in the other line for the next train. It wasn't a big deal, we were going to do it, and then she grabbed Adam's arm. She's like you need to go over there. You don't touch people. Did she think he didn't understand, and had to physically move him over that direction? He's 31 fricken years old! Technically, she shouldn't have even touched him anyway, for harassment issues and things. As soon as Adam pulled his arm away, I think she realized what she did was pretty stupid, and she let us on the train anyway. It was funny. Maybe we should write a letter to Disneyland. Maybe we'd get lifetime passes to avoid any further legal procedures?! Just kidding. It was just funny how our day went, and that was the end of it. Kind of a weird Disneyland experience. No Christmas spirit that night. And obviously no Disney spirit either.
People these days.

Christmas vacation

We decided kind of last minute that we were going to to head to Disneyland on Friday afternoon. Adam got off work at 1, so we headed out then. It should only take around 3 and half hours to get there. So I figured we'd get there around 4:30, we'd have the rest of the day at Disneyland, since it was open until midnight. My sister Erin got us a room in Anaheim, {Thank you so much, Erin!!} so we didn't have to worry about just coming straight back home. It was very nice. But what wasn't so nice, was the traffic. Friday LA traffic before a holiday, is not fun. We didn't en up getting to Anaheim until around 6:30. We got to California Adventure just at 7 to find out that it closed at 8. We hurried and rode the carousel, while Adam rode the roller coaster three times, and then went on the Toy Story ride. We made it barely in time for Noah and I to ride on Soarin' over California, which he loved. It was fine though. We have the passes, we weren't too upset that we didn't get to do much there! I can't really ride on much there anyway. Remember, that I'm like 9 months pregnant! I've been dilated to a 3 for nearly 3 weeks, and I went to Disneyland, it was great!
After California Adventure, we ventured to Disneyland. It was the first day of the Christmas stuff, so it was pretty busy. A lot of locals came out for the festivities. We didn't ride on much there, either. We hit up Buzz, Adam took Macie on Matterhorn {Noah is afraid of it.} and I watched the Christmas fireworks with Noah. After the fireworks, it snows. I'm an Idaho girl. I'm used to snow at Christmas. So, of course, since I'm very emotional and pregnant, I cried. This was the only snow I was going to see this Christmas. As fake as it was, it was still snow. It made me all teary to see all the Christmas lights and the snow, and people going crazy. Noah jumped out of the stroller just to touch a "snowflake" or soap bubble. And the jumped in and wanted to call Momo to tell her that he snowed. He's such a good kid. After the fireworks and the snow we were going to go on Small World. They just barely redid it with all new boats and things, and it was Christmasy. But...in their right mind would spend 4 fricken hours in line for IT's a Small World? Definately not us. We got out of line and went to the Haunted Mansion, which is decorated for Christmas, too. And the kids love it just as well. We didn't do much else. But, it was enough. It was fun to get to do something like that with the kids before the baby was born...even if I am way pregnant!
Then on Saturday we just visited some friends from our old Torrance ward, and Adam's friend from high school who lives in Lawndale. We went to the beach we used to go to all of the time when we lived there. It was fun. It was a good day. We ended it at Seagull Book in LA and got to see the temple almost decorated for Christmas. It was a good little weekend trip. It's our Christmas vacation, since we'll be having a baby this year instead of travelling. I thought maybe all of the bumpy roads and walking would help induce this baby...but so far no luck. Tomorrow they may strip my membranes. Maybe we will have a baby before Thanksgiving. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Where a kid can be a kid...

Noah has wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese's for the longest time. He has seen the commercials on TV, and wanted to go to the place "where a kid can be a kid." He reminds me that he wants to go everyday. When we moved here, we moved within walking distance. We haven't ever gone. I just think that it's a waste of money, really. The food looks crappy, and very overpriced, and then you just play games. But, since it was his birthday, we took him. We walked over after Adam got home from work. We didn't get pizza, but had a coupon to buy 50 tokens and then get 50 free. That was out plan. Luckily for us, however, we didn't have to spend a dime there. Noah really isn't old enough to know that you're supposed to use tokens anyway. He doesn't understand that you get tickets to use for other things. He had just as much fun running around to every game just playing on it for a second, and then moving on to the next thing. It was funny to watch him. He's so busy. I don't think he would have been able to sit still long enough to play a game anyway, so it totally worked out. Macie had fun just running around too. When Chuck E. Cheese came out, Noah was excited, but Macie only likes things from a distance. We only spent maybe an hour there, and didn't get sucked in to buying anything! This age is great! We'll see how long it lasts!
