That itchy feeling...

So, last night I got into bed. I had taken my contacts out, so I couldn't see a thing! I'm pretty blind without them. So I lay in bed, and Adam turns his lamp off. I noticed a lot of crumbs on my side of the bed. I found a cracker in my bed, that I had just assumed Macie had taken from my stash next to the bed. The stash I keep so I don't get so sick in the morning before I get out of bed. It's been there for a while, so I didn't think much of it, and I brushed all of the crumbs off the bed. I'm laying there, and keep getting all itchy, and then I keep feeling like little pins all over me. It's dark, so I turn on my lamp, and I see an ant. I keep looking, there are ants EVERYWHERE! Those crumbs...yeah, not crumbs, ants! Even now writing about it, I'm all itchy. I run down to get the dust buster and the ant spray, while Adam moves the bed out. Sure enough, the wall behind our bed is covered with ants! Palmdale has an ant problem. We had a friend who sold Pest Control out here while he was in school. He said that this area has ants REALLY bad. When we first moved it, we had a bad ant problem on our middle landing of our stairs. They were HUGE black ants crawling out of the floors when we turned on the water. I guess with new construction, they are pretty bad. But these ants in our bed were not black ants...they were red ants. Hence, the little pin pricks I was getting. They were biting me. I have little red bumps all over this morning. YUCK! Luckily the kids were both sleeping, as we both were freaking out about all these ants. They were under the sheet, in the mattress pad, in my pillow case, inside the pillow...EVERYWHERE! And for what? I guess for that little cracker. It was the last one, I don't know why they haven't shown up before. I was SO mad and grossed out. I hate ants. I think I may hate ants more than spiders. At least with a spider, there usually is only one. You kill it and you're done. With ants, they never go away. We vacuumed and sprayed forever last night, and they probably still were crawling around on the floor. Oh man, just thinking about it is grossing me out! I couldn't sleep on the bed last night. Adam assured me that they were all gone, but I couldn't do it. I opted to sleep in the guest bedroom. We have a queen bed in there, it was fine. But I couldn't sleep there either. I went downstairs and was getting settled. And then I kept feeling itchy everywhere. I went into the bathroom, and took my shirt off and my pants, and yes...ants in my underwear. IN MY UNDERWEAR! SO GROSS! I did a little shaking off and rinsing off in the shower, and then went to the ant free bed, but still could feel all itchy crawly all over me. I HATE ANTS! This morning I stripped the bed and am washing all of the sheets, I've vacuumed again, but I'll probably do it again, and I'm planning to buy new pillows for both of us. And it's only 7:10. Oh the misery of ants. I'm sure hoping Santa Maria doesn't have ants. I'm thinking of calling Terminix, they help with ants, right?
