Sunday is always a good day to take pictures, right? Everyone is all dressed up, and looks good. But then I get the camera out. And this is what happens!
I love Macie's skirt, by the way. When I saw it at Target I just had to get it. But, they didn't have her size. It was in the Girl's section, not toddler, so I needed the smallest size. And they never had it. Pretty popular, I guess. And then, I saw a few girls at church with it and got jealous. It was too cute. Gray AND polka dots, totally my thing. And then I happened to find one on the clearance rack, without a clearance sticker. I took it to the price checker, and it was only $3.24. Without a second thought, I bought it. I love it!

Have you laughed today?
How can you look at this picture and not laugh? We laugh a lot around here. A lot. Macie is a crack up. Hilarious, that girl. Noah insists he can go crosseyed as well. He cannot. He does put up a good effort. With time, I'm sure he'll master it! We were in the car coming home from Sacramento a while ago, and Macie just randomly looked at me cross eyed. It was the funniest thing ever.
It's never boring around our house. Ever.

ballet.
Macie started ballet. The community college here has a "College For Kids" dance class. It's perfect. Fairly inexpensive, close to our house, Macie has a friend in there, and the teacher is in our ward. It's perfect.
Macie has been telling people about her "dance class" for quite sometime now. Long before we even thought about a dance class for her. So, it was just a matter of time before we signed her up and got her in.
We went and got her black leotard, pink ballets, and pink tights. She was very excited. I'm in the process of making her a dance bag and skirt, because she is "the only ballerina without them." Or so I am told.
The first class was alright. She needs to listen better, for sure. And she is still sitting on the fence of tomboy and girly girl. She can't decide which one, which is fine with us. When all the other little girls were prancing around the ballet floor, her face was all scrunched {think baseball pitcher...}, her hands were in fists and she was full on sprinting back and forth. She does, however, really enjoy the hour time that she gets to spend with ALL girls. Once her feet don't want to hide under her bum anymore, and she figures out how to get her feet to go into first position, she'll be fine.
I am so proud of my little ballerina.

Macie sings...
"Row, row, row your boat,
gently down the street.
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily,
Life is a butter dream."

Conan.
We are big fans of Conan O'Brien. He's pretty funny. Every night, we record the Tonight Show on the DVR. And, we eventually watch all of them. Even weeks later, it's still pretty funny. And we find ourselves quoting many, many, many Conan quotes or jokes. Even the kids like the "Puppies dresses like cats" skit. He's just hilarious.
Jay Leno on the otherhand, is not. Yes, I like Monday night Headlines. But that's it. The whole Jaywalking thing has been totally way overdone. I get it, people are dumb. They don't get any smarter, and yes, they are funny. But Jay, you're not doing any of the work there. People aren't laughing with YOU, it's the ridiculous people. I am not a Leno fan. He's old. Move on. Johnny Carson did it, Jay Leno, you can too. Please.

oh, christmas trees...

We have two trees. One in the tv room, and the other in the book room. Neither tree is spectacular. Just 6 1/2 and 7 feet. And they are both pretty skinny. Adam wanted a real tree this year, but we just didn't have the time to go and get one, and so we put up the fake trees. However, both trees became naked on the bottom. between Jacob and the cat, the ornaments and lights on the lower half of the trees didn't stand a chance! Thank goodness for shatterproof ornaments.
I got a lot of good deals this year with the after Christmas sales, so stay tuned for next year. It'll be good!

weather.
It's 71 degrees right now. Yes, you read right 71. I like this weather in January, it really makes me happy. Especially when I hear about the snow and frigid cold temperatures at your houses. Hey, the invitation is always open. I know you want to trade 5 degrees for our lovely 71, huh?

missing teeth.
I have neglected to post about Noah's tooth. Yes, I know, I blogged about his first tooth already. But I haven't blogged about his SECOND tooth to fall out. My baby boy has lost not just one, but TWO teeth! Jeez.
We went to Seattle for Thanksgiving to spend the holiday with Adam's parents. {which will probably be blogged about later...} BUT...while we were there the other wiggly tooth came out. And the best part was, the tooth fairy found him there. Crazy, huh? ;-) Luckily, I packed the little tooth pillow I made, just in case. Good thing I did, my son is a sucker for routines like that.
I can't believe how old it makes him to have a huge whole in his mouth. They are growing in so fast though. They are nearly full grown teeth now. My five year old has ADULT teeth. That is just so strange to me! It all happens too fast. Way too fast...

christmas eve.
What were you doing on Christmas Eve at about 11PM until around 2? Let me show you what I was doing...
All Macie kept asking Santa for, was a Dora backpack. I could not find one anywhere. Dora is now a teenager or something. It's weird. So I sort of just hoped she'd forget about it. She didn't. She kept saying how Santa was bringing her a Dora backpack. And this girl knows what she wants and nothing will detract her from that. She remembers EVERYTHING. Seriuosly. After searching EVERY single store in our city, I decided totally last minute that I would have to make one. I found the perfect felt, and I printed a picture, and started sewing. I think it turned out pretty darn good, really. I didn't have a pattern, I just kept looking at the picture. I don't claim to be a seamstress by any means, I just do trial and error until things look right. I even added the pocket on the side. I was pretty impressed with myself! We didn't have any black felt, and so backpack got temporary blue eyes, that will change later. And the addition of the map will be added.
And yes, Macie loved it. She carries it with her many many places. And it always is "loaded up with things and nic nacs, too." Is she spoiled, or what??
