One year ago we said goodbye to one of the greatest men. There hasn't been a single day that the image of Papa hasn't been in my mind. There hasn't been a single day when the kids haven't asked about Papa. There hasn't been a single day when we haven't laughed about something Papa said or did. We really love Papa. We know he is with us and watching over us, and laughing with us. His phone calls to see if the kids could come out to play or just to check up on us are truly missed. But, his legacy does live on. The kids wiggle their eyebrows, we all tell stories ending with "and they laughed", we eat hot dogs at Costco and never forget to say "And only $1.50", we listen to Jazz music, we play the bongos regularly, and we try to spoil his wife. It's been a rough year. Lots of tears and lots of memories have flooded through us. But we will never forget him. We never want to. And now it's "back to the salt mines"...{with maybe a Costco lunch later! ;-)}
We love you, Papa. We miss you everyday.

It always makes me feel old when I find myself saying, "Has it already been a year? Really?"
When we pass those milestone moments time kind of has a way of losing meaning, because the abstract concept of a year doesn't match up with the concrete idea of how long ago something life-changing happened.
I'm really glad that your family is finding both meaningful and lighthearted ways to remember a great man.
Thanks for being a great example of how the Atonement can impact our daily lives if we let it.
Thanks for listing so many sweet memories and feelings here. The summer of Adam's internship was a wonderful gift, so many deep, sweet, happy memories, pictures, insider stories and jokes between us! Laughter cheers and heals when nothing else can, until we meet again. Bless you!
