While cleaning up before pajama time, Noah started throwing something away that apparently was important to Macie. She chased after him, which "caused" Noah to hit her.
MACIE: "YOU ARE THE MEANEST GUY!"
NOAH: {in tears} I'm a boy, not a guy!

He never disagreed that he was the meanest, however. Just that he isn't a guy.
They may fight...a lot. But, what siblings don't? They do love each other, I promise.

green patrick's day

Noah and Macie have been looking forward to "Green Patrick's Day" for a very long time. Seriously, they asked about it everyday, I would have to show them the calendar and tell them that it was like months away! But, it finally did arrive. With Noah in school, it was even more hyped up! A few years ago it was called "Hulk Day" in our house, Noah really likes green!

Since the kid are getting older, I try to be more festive and decorate for each holiday. It's kind of fun, really. The kids were so excited for Green Patrick to come {He's not a "Saint" here, I guess...just green!}. They anticipated what he was going to do. They had heard that some leprachauns make messes, that was the big thing before bed, if he was going to make a mess!

They woke up to shamrock confetti all over their pillows and beds, which their "leprachaun" quickly regretted. And then the found the mess of magical confetti all over the table and hearth. The sneaky little leprachaun even tried to take the gold, and ended up tipping the pot and spilling all of the gold. The best part was when their juic magically turned green in their cups. They were amazed as they watched me pour their apple juice into their empty cup {they couldn't see the drop of green food coloring on the bottom} and it magically turned green. However,  mine didn't turn green. Oops. But, Macie informed me that it was because I wasn't wearing green. And I wasn't. Phew, good save! ;-) And then we enjoyd green pancakes, which my kids are not fans of. They loves regular pancakes, but when they are green, they are so not appetizing!

We finished the night off with friends, rainbow jello, mini pizzas with shamrocks and gold {or pineapple}, reuben sandwiches, irish cheese fondue, and rainbow cake coated in clouds. It was all good food for a good night! Who knew this would be one of our most celebrated holidays??

I wonder what the leprachaun will do next year...

day 7

Jacob is weaned. Officially weaned. He is no longer a nursing baby. He's a milk drinking toddler. Yes, he still asks for it in his pathetic little voice, "Nurse me, Mom." But, I haven't. Not in SEVEN whole days. If you know Jacob, you know that that is HUGE! He was quite the nurser. And now he's sleeping better, eating a little better, and is {sadly} getting skinnier! He has a neck! His bum isn't quite as large, we've even gone down a diaper size. He's now sporting size 5. His eating habits are still not very good, but he's getting there. He drinks a few cups of milk, and lots of cereal. He's not getting his daily milkshake, so he is going through withdrawals. His terrible twos are very evident, but that's alright. I could hang on to my baby, or let him grow up, which he'll do anyway! And now I'll get a few month break before the next bout of nursing begins.

Go A's!

T-ball season has officially started. But, instead of the Angels like last year, Noah's team is the A's. And, instead of being the "Bad News Bears" team, they look pretty official! Last year they just wore jeans or shorts or whatever, which was fine. We actually thought it was funny that parents went all out for their children in T-ball, they are only little. And then we gave in. We splurged on the extra twenty bucks for cleats, baseball pants, socks and a belt. I'm glad we did. He does look pretty awesome in his baseball get up! The best thing about it is that HE loves it. He thinks he's pretty darn cool. And he is. Even without it.

Last year there was a lot of drawing in the dirt on Noah's part. But, this year he's a little more focused. He even made a play, and {if there were outs} got the kid out on first! His batting has also improved, he's got a lot more power in his swing! The tee throws him off a bit, he may do better without it!

We've got a few more month of t-ball season. Ours will be over before many of your even start! We love California! The games only last an hour, and if they were any longer, I'm pretty sure the attention span would be depleted! One hour is perfect for these kids! And especially for Jacob and Macie who go a little crazy because they aren't the ones playing! Jacob tried to walk on the field a few times. He really wants to play ball, but he's got a good three more years! Noah and his team are awesome!

Go A's!

$3.70 for a gallon of gas? Really? I guess I'll be putting the stroller to use a bit more! Well...after it stops raining.

we want...

Noah and Macie are always wanting new things. Everytime we walk into a store, they want pretty much the entire toy section. They already clearly have far too many toys. But, their latest wants they might just get. Well, maybe not, but I am melted by the cuteness of how they say the names.

Noah wants a "Hoho Stick." {aka Pogo Stick}
Macie wants a "Hoop-A-Loop" {aka Hula Hoop}

You've got to hear them say it, though...it makes it so much better! I love my kids, they make me smile everyday.

ballet time

Macie started her next semester of ballet. She is finally really liking it, and participating. She actually shows us what she's learned, and uses the words and everything. She hasn't ever talked about it before, but now she's finally catching on and liking it! I love getting her ready for class, she just looks so dang cute in the black leotard and pink tights. I have the cutest little ballerina! Her hair is finally getting long enough to play around with. It is still very very fine, and still hard to do, and it falls out every quickly, but that's alright. Ever since she watched Tangled, she is afraid to get her hair cut. She doesn't want it to turn brown. Because, didn't you know that every blond who cuts their hair will become brunette? Macie is a funny girl, very funny, for sure. We love her, though.

{this is proof that I am still functional, I do still do things around here!}

kindergarten

Macie is registered for Kindergarten. And I can't believe it. Seriously, wasn't she just born? In six months she will be starting school, leaving me for half of a day, and Noah for an entire day! It's craziness. Macie has been ready to go to school since Noah started. She hates that he gets to go and she has to stay home. Luckily the deadline in California is so dang late so she does get to go with a mid-September birthday, or we would be in trouble. She would go so crazy! When we went in to register there were so many kids there who were at least a head shorter than her. She's probably going to be the tallest in the class, and one of the younger ones. Not only will her blond hair make her stick out like a sore thumb, her height will make her that much easier to spot on the playground!

I am a little nervous, though. I hope she doesn't give her teacher attitude like she gives us!

classy.

On our way home from Seattle in June, we stopped a gas station for a potty break. Adam and Macie were the only ones to go in. Macie came out with the biggest grin on her face and something hiding behind her back. I thought it was another treat, which they probably didn't need, and was overly priced at the gas station in the middle of nowhere. But, it wasn't. Oh, no. It was "better" than that. It was much much more classy. Leave it Adam, however, to buy this beauty for our children:

Yes, you are reading it right. Dr. Fart. We are the owners of a Dr. Fart device. One of those things you see in gas stations and wonder who in their right mind would buy one. Yeah, we have one. And it's probably our kids favorite toy. They laugh and giggle, and follow people around to give the followee and unexpected surprise. The love it. Jacob especially. He caught on to it quick. He always says, "Ew. Yuck. Gross." And then laughs uncontrollably. Just the other day, however, he decided to put it behind his own bum and push the button, making the noise, and saying "I toot!"

It's such a classy toy. You all need one. Thank you, Adam, for ours! It's such a wonderful addition to our home! ;-)

one day...

Bleh. One of these days I will start feeling better! I just know it! I haven't even taken any pictures or anything in a really long time. My kids are saying and doing the funniest things daily. But, where am I? On the couch. Sick. Not wanting to do much. Much of anything, really. {I sound depressed. I'm not. I promise. Just pregnant and sick!} I did, however, get the drugs on Thursday, and that has been very wonderful! I love Zofran, it really is my best friend right now. I get so excited every 8 hours to take another. It has helped quite a bit. I haven't thrown up since Thursday! Yeah! But, my poor kids! They had Reese's Peanut Butter hearts for breakfast today. They've resorted to just eating what is within reach in the pantry. Sad, huh?

Today, in the time it took me to finally get off the couch to attend to a beeping washing machine, change the laundry, and line up the next load, I came downstairs to find chocolate syrup all over the kitchen, multiple glasses of water dumped out on the floor, along with a broken glass, three rooms in udder destruction, and three pajamaed messy kids! But, one day, I will feel better. My house will be clean{er}, my laundry will be folded and put away, my kids will have their hair combed and be dressed before 11, we will have better food in the pantry...one day. But for now, I'll go take another Zofran and eat saltine crackers!
